I painted this pink castle (loosley based on Cinderella's Castle) in little girls bedroom, with a horse driven carriage. And, because all girl's love bling - I added sparkly glitter to rooftops, horses, carriage and much more.

Plane Mural Ideas For Little Boys - Personalized!

Planes & More Planes! What little boy doesn't love them? I've recently done 2 different plane murals - one featuring red 'fighter planes' and the other featuring little boy's favorite Dusty, from Planes movie. Both murals have boy's name spelled by 'sky-writing' name in clouds.

Kitchen Stencil Idea - Cooking Words

Cooking terms, like marinate, infuse and braise - in different sizes, fonts and colors - is a great idea for a kitchen wall that just 'needs something'! This contemporary kitchen was mainly done in browns but their window valances had a touch of blue - so we choose this warm brown and soft blue color palette.

The 'one time use' stencils were ordered from The Mad Stencilist and then I did the stenciling - in about 4 hours.

Jungle Nursery Mural for Twin Boys

I painted this mural for twin boys, who's Mom & Dad wanted to give them lots of colorful animals and insects from nature - to look at and identify.

Mural goes contains a colorful parrot, tiger (from a popular children's book), lion, mom & baby giraffe, elephant, leopard sleeping in tree and several (cute) insects.

Birch Tree Mural - Baby Girl's Loft Nursery

 

This Birch Tree Mural could easily have been gender neutral - or even painted for a baby boy. However, since their little girl was born 1 week before I painted the mural - we decided to add some 'hot pink' birds!

The loft style nursery has ceilings that over 10' high, with open duct work. The tall birch trees were perfect for the high ceilings and will be a design that will last many years. 

Poppy Mural - Great Idea For Fireplace Art

To add a pop of color and give life to the niche above fireplace in 'open concept' living space -

I painted colorful, contemporary poppies. The background is painted and texturized in khaki, olive, green, gold tones and white.

With a full wall of windows, overlooking Chicago - Mom wanted baby Symeon's new room to reflect Chicago's beautiful skyline - plus have some fun elements and bright colors to keep his interest. To do this, I painted a whimsical skyline and used primary colors to paint sailboats, Navy Pier's famous ferris wheel and a plane - which is 'sky writing' his name.

If you look closely, you'll see a channel 7 traffic helicopter!

Mack's Sailboat Room!

 

 

Four year old Mack was finally ready for his own room.  So, his parents wanted his room to be really special, just like his twin brother (who's mural I also did!).

Every wall of his room is painted, so that he would feel like he was 'at sea'. He has a whale, pelicans, seagulls, a light house, huge waves, fun sailing accessories (hanging on a white, beachside fence) - and, of course, all kinds of sailboats.

If you look closely, there is a sailboat next to the light house - that has Mack, his brother and his dog. 

Indian Gardens Restaurant Murals - Schiller Park, IL

I've painted several murals in the beautiful new restaurant, Indian Gardens, on Irving Park Rd. in Schiller Park. The mural above was based on the stone carvings found in the caves of Ellora. 

The mural below, was inspired by the frescos in the Ajanta Ellora caves.

The following smaller murals (of Indian spices, rose petals and Indian prayer beads) were painted over a doorway and in the entrance to restaurant.

I painted this Chicago Skyline Mural in nursery in Chicago - including vintage planes, Navy Pier (with the famous Ferris Wheel & sail boats) and baby's name written in clouds!

Damask Stenciled Kitchen - Elmhurst, IL

 

I stenciled this large kitchen, using the 'Anna' Damask design from Cutting Edge Stencils. By using soft (non-opaque) stenciling technique - with a 'blue on blue' color palette - the kitchen has a 'vintage' feel.

This large Damask stencil design was the perfect decorating solution for this newly remodeled kitchen in older Elmhurst home. However - it was not easy - or fast!  It took me 4 full days but was well worth the effort.
